Make Your Entryway Stunning

Are you ready for a change but don’t know where to start?  Consider renovating your entryway.  It is small and manageable, but more importantly, it is the first impression guests have of your home.

The entrance should be a welcoming invitation to enter your home.  It sets the tone for the visit, and is also the final thing your guests will see as they leave.

PICK YOUR COLORS

A fresh coat of paint on the exterior door or interior walls can keep your space looking fresh.  Neutrals and wood-tone are always in fashion here in New England, but you don’t need to be afraid of color.  Some bolder shades we enjoy include Dried Basil and Audubon Russet by Benjamin Moore.  A fresh rug or pillows can add pops of color too.

CONSIDER THE FLOORING

We all know that the school bags, shoes, and umbrellas are all going to land in the entryway, so why not make sure that your floor can take the abuse.  Consider a custom tile floor.  Working with the designers at Goedecke Flooring and Design Center will ensure that your new floor is not only beautiful, but durable enough to function well with all of the dirt and water that tend to land in this area.

ORGANIZE

Our entryways should be just as functional as they are beautiful.  The options for cabinets, hooks, and benches are endless.  Consider adding custom storage to prevent this area from becoming cluttered.  Built in shelving or seating can turn a catch-all area into a beautiful room.

LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE

Choose accessories, furniture and lighting that make you happy: maybe a clever doormat, or a pair or bright yellow rainboots.  Don’t forget that your entryway is supposed to reflect you and your interests.  Personal expression is the best way to make your guests feel welcome.
